PCCEO Peoria Area Food Pantry

  • Mission

The Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 created the federal Office of Economic Opportunity. In February 1966, the Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity, Inc. (PCCEO) became the official agency authorized by the federal government to administer and operate “Community Action Programs” (CAPs) in Peoria.

    About Us

Peoria Area Food Pantry, formerly Peoria Area Food Bank, is a new pantry program of Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity, Inc. (PCCEO). We are transitioning from being a food bank that distributes to member food pantries, to being a food pantry which distributes food directly to neighbors in need.

Our services will include a "choice" food pantry on Wednesdays from 9 am until 11:30 am and 3 pm until 6:30 pm, provide emergency food boxes to those who have an immediate need outside of our pantry hours, provide home delivery to neighbors in need who are elderly and/or disabled, and we will work with community partners to provide mobile food pantries and fresh markets in food desert areas. Opening date for the pantry is TBD.
