Nature Nexus Institute

Nature Nexus Institute (NNI) is founded on the belief that reciprocity between communities and nature is essential to the survival of both. We seek to provide equitable and intergenerational entry points to cultivating healthy community-nature relationships. We strive to be a nexus for science, culture, art, and research endeavors that result in a new generation of change-makers and storytellers.

Nature Nexus Institute is a BIPOC team of changemakers dedicated to engaging local underserved youth and communities in environmental stewardship and nature-based activities in Los Angeles. Our programs support and manage community-led habitat restoration, youth leadership, and conservation action that promotes equitable access to Los Angeles open spaces and the natural environment. Engaging people in the process of restoring and protecting nature within their own communities and cultivating the next generation of environmental stewards is essential to sustaining our mission.
