Great Life Mentoring

  • About Us

Great Life Mentoring (GLM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and evidence-based mental health intervention that utilizes trained community volunteers to improve the mental health conditions of children living in poverty.

This program is unlike any other mentoring program out there and has the research to back it up. Since 2000, GLM has partnered with mental health organizations to help heal over 1,000 kids—providing more than 100,000 hours of life-changing consistency and positive interactions. Utilizing the highest-level of scientific research (a randomized controlled trial), GLM aims to scale. We hope to provide this standard of care, stability and emotional competence to children in communities throughout the US.

We partner with the Clark County Department of Community Services and child-serving mental health organizations throughout Clark County, WA and have recently expanded to Portland, OR. We’re working to continue expanding our reach to new areas, enabling us to serve even more children.

Youth served by Great Life Mentoring are between the ages of 7 and 18 and reside in Clark county, Washington. They receive government-funded healthcare, and have experienced trauma or face other circumstances that impact their everyday functioning. What helps them most? A consistent, trustworthy adult to help them form healthy relationships and behaviors that can last a lifetime.

Great Life Mentoring marks community volunteers as the heart of this program. Moreover, we could not have achieved such honor, recognition and positive outcomes without them. It has been their unconditional positive regard that impacts the kids to have a great life. In the process, the mentors discover more meaningful lives as well. The life you change may be your own!
