The Nyingma Association of Mandala Organizations
Gain non-profit work experience in an all-volunteer setting, while working to save the endangered culture of Tibet and learn about Buddhism. Community members and volunteers may take classes at the Tibetan Nyingma Institute, Dharma College, and Mangalam Center in Berkeley.
The Mandala Training Program offers meals and shared rooms in a community setting, located in the heart of downtown Berkeley, California. Free classes on meditation, a gentle form of Tibetan yoga called Kum Nye, Tibetan language, Buddhism, and the mind are offered. Full-time community members work 5.5 days a week and make a minimum commitment of 6 months. You need not be Buddhist, so long as you are curious and open to working, living, and engaging with a Buddhist community. All levels of experience are welcome.
