  • Mission

The Snappy Trust is a small charity, based in York, dedicated to maximising the personal development of children and young people with wide ranging disabilities. We provide a community, rich in resources, that meet the needs of the children and young people who attend Snappy. Alongside this, we offer opportunities for them to explore new activities and gain life skills that may not be easily accessed elsewhere. Our wide mix of activities are designed to encourage personal growth and development. This community environment ensures that our children and young people can learn, develop and have fun with the same feeling and tone as their mainstream peers.

    About Us

The Snappy Trust is a registered charity supporting children and young people with wide-ranging disabilities, from across the York area.

We were originally founded in 1985 by four parents who felt that their children had a tough time over the school holidays because of limited time with friends. They got together with one of the school's head teachers and arranged to bring some of the children into school for a few days over the summer holidays to enjoy some play activities - and Snappy was born!

In 2018, we changed our name to The Snappy Trust to better reflect the work that we are doing in not only supporting those children, young people and families who use our services, but also the work we do in raising awareness about the importance of inclusion, acceptance and empowerment in disability.
