About Us
Outdoor Journeys (OJ) was founded in 2014 to serve as a grassroots organization with a key focus to reconnect youth and communities back to the natural world.
OJ is a dynamic and forward thinking organization. It is looking to scale its programs from local, to regional and ultimately national by using its recently acquired residential camp facility, Camp Nawakwa, as the foundation stone for all program/curriculum development.
Camp Nawakwa was established in 1947 and sits at an elevation of 6,850’ at the northern foot of the San Gorgonio Wilderness. We offer a number of on-site programs, provided by our certified and experienced staff, which include: archery, climbing tower, arts & crafts, nature hikes, swimming, canoeing, fishing, night hikes and campfire talent show.
