Congress Heights Community Association

  • About Us

The Congress Heights Community Association represents residents of the largest neighborhood in Ward 8 of Southeast DC and meets on the second Monday of each month at 6:30 pm at the UPO Petey Greene Center on Martin Luther King Avenue SE.

The Shepherd Parkway Committee was created in 2011 to transform the most polluted park in Washington, DC into a valued community asset. We have removed tens of thousands of pounds of trash from the woods, saved hundreds of trees from the invasive menace of English Ivy, and initiated with the National Park Service the process that we hope will lead to construction of a nearly 3-mile long hiking trail throught the park.
