About Us

With a century-long tradition of caring, the Visiting Nurse Service of New York is the largest non-profit home health care agency in the nation. On any given day, 2,200 registered and advanced practice nurses, 675 rehabilitation therapists, 600 social workers, and 4,350 home health aides provide expert and compassionate care to more than 24,000 patients in New York City, Nassau and Westchester Counties, from newborn infants to our oldest senior citizens. The Visiting Nurse Service of New York family also includes over 600 volunteers who, through their selfless and generous efforts, help make this caring possible.

Since our founding in 1893 by public health pioneer Lillian D. Wald, VNSNY has remained true to its caring nature that has set us apart in the eyes of our clients.
