Mission
We, The Community of Holy Rosary and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, are a diverse welcoming family of Christians, who worship in an African American and traditional style. Led by the Holy Spirit, we serve God by proclaiming and living the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in word and action: evangelizing, ministering to those in need, and nourishing the shared faith, hope, and love for which we are created as children of God.
About Us
The Community of Holy Rosary & St. John the Evangelist is a center city Roman Catholic Church with a focus on social outreach. Some of the ministries of the church include:
- Sunday 9:30 a.m. Mass with Gospel Choir
- St. John Community Center (community center that houses a variety of nonprofits and a health clinic)
- St. John Food Pantry
- St. John Learning Center (adult education)
- community gardens
- youth ministry
- senior ministry
- Martin Luther King Day Celebration
- Black Heritage Month Celebration
