    Training will be done by liaison and tech of the Emergency Department after the completion of onboarding by volunteer departments including hospital orientation and Health Stream modules. Day to day oversight after the completion of training.

    Description

    Become an AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Volunteer and serve with the Faulkner Hospital - You must be age 55 or over.

    Department: Emergency Department

    Service Summary: This volunteer would help bring family members of patients in the ED back to their loved one in the department. They will also provide comfort care items to patients, examples being pillows, and warm blankets.

    Duties:

    • Walk family members back to patient in the ED
    • Provide comfort care items to patients such as pillows and warm blankets
    • Be a resource for staff on the floor who may need assistance with small tasks

    Essential Skills Needed:

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Excellent customer service skills

    • Ability to follow directions and take supervision
    • Ability to be on feet for an extended period of time.
