    Description

    Summary:

    The Treasurer works in partnership with the President to ensure accurate, up-to-date financial records that reflect the fiscal health of Orisha Wholeness. These records encompass cash flow, outstanding advances, investments, accounts receivable and payable, and overall fund balances (net assets). The Treasurer plays a key governance role in safeguarding the organization's financial integrity and transparency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Provide timely, informed financial guidance to the President and the Board of Directors.
    2. Ensure that all incoming funds are collected and properly recorded, and that all authorized payments are made efficiently and accurately.
    3. Maintain up-to-date records that accurately reflect the organization’s financial status at all times.
    4. Lead the preparation and monitoring of the organization’s annual budget.
    5. Present a comprehensive financial report at the Annual General Meeting.
    6. Deliver regular financial reports and updates to the Board of Directors.
    7. Liaise with auditors and staff during financial reviews or audits.
    8. Ensure a smooth and thorough transition of responsibilities to a new Treasurer at the end of the term.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Strong understanding of nonprofit financial accounting principles or an ability to learn.
    • Background in economics, accounting, or finance a plus
    • Proficiency in software tools including spreadsheets, word processing, accounting, inventory, and payroll systems a plus
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and contribute to organizational success
