    Description

    Become an AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Volunteer and serve with the Tufts Medical Center - You must be age 55 or over!

    ROLE SUMMARY

    This volunteer will go into patient rooms and spend time talking with the patients, occasionally bringing them things like crossword puzzles etc. Volunteers would be expected to communicate any of the patient’s needs/concerns to the care team. It involves a good deal of walking around as well as the ability to comfortably have good conversations with patients.

    Qualifications

    - Ability to stand for 3-4 hours at a time

    - Ability to lift 3 - 10 lbs

    - Ability to read/write English

    - Complete required Background checks

    - Completion of the Tufts Medical Center Orientation

    - Been Cleared through Tufts Medical Center Employee Health

    - Knowledge of Tufts Medical Center

    - Wheelchair trained

    - Trained on wheelchair cleaning
