    STW(tm) will provide a "letter of recommendation" to professionals who are able to showcase outstanding performance for school/university credit and for professional references.

    Position Summary:

    The Audio Engineer Consultant supports Save The Water’s Education team by editing and mastering podcast episodes and other audio assets, ensuring that all published material meets professional audio standards and is delivered on schedule.

    Department: Education

    Required Qualifications:

    • Proficiency with at least one major Digital Audio Workstation (e.g., Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Reaper, Pro Tools)
    • Knowledgeable with audio editing tools in the time and frequency domain
    • Solid foundation in audio production principles (gain staging, metering, file formats, loudness standards, etc)
    • Attention to detail
    • Organized, reliable, and attentive to deadlines

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with dedicated audio-restoration software (e.g., iZotope RX) and access to the necessary licenses
    • Previous work editing long-form spoken-word content such as podcasts or remote (Zoom) interviews
    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Audio Engineering, Media Technology, or a related field

    Duties:

    • Coordinate with Education-department volunteers to set realistic release timelines and adjust them as needed
    • Perform comprehensive editing of all podcast and interview recordings (dialogue clean-up, leveling, compression, equalization, etc)
    • Master audio files for publication across streaming platforms
    • Ensure technical accuracy and consistency in all recordings
    • Maintain organized session files, version histories, and relevant notes about each session (if applicable)
