    ABOUT US

The Green Burial Council (GBC) was founded in 2005 to ensure that consumers would be served by having verifiable standards for green funeral enterprises. Our mission is to inspire and advocate for environmentally sustainable, natural death care through education and certification and our vision is to ensure universal access to information and environmentally sustainable death care.

The GBC is seeking to add to its board of directors for the role of Treasurer. Currently the GBC is going through growth and transformation by adding additional funding sources for educational outreach and scientific research.

The Board of Directors of the GBC are from different areas of the United States and meet virtually monthly as well as when a director serves on a committee. We are an all volunteer board of directors.
