    Time: 9:30am-3:30pm (We may be a little closer to 9:45 for travel time)

    Where: The Augusta Emergency Overnight Warming Center (AEOWC) 34 Bridge St Augusta Maine

    General Project Description: South Parish Church provides a number of community outreach activities to some of the most vulnerable in our community. They provide space for and support The AEOWC, provide and organize Community Suppers, provide space for AA meetings and other recovery resources, and provide and assist with a community pet pantry.

    The main areas of focus for the Service Project will be inside the AEOWC and the community spaces within South Parish. These spaces are separate from worship areas. Tasks to accomplish will include:

      • Deep cleaning of community suppers/meeting spaces (i.e. floors, baseboards, windows)
      • Sorting and organizing donations and supplies in the laundry area
      • Cleaning and organizing wherever needed in the AEOWC

    Julia, the Director of the AEOWC can further clarify projects and provide tasks. Rob the AEOWC will be on site to give a little history and background as well as the day to day operations. Richard the church sexton will be able to oversee cleaning activities in the community supper spaces.

    Since our previous service activities at AEOWC, there have been additional beds and spaces created to keep people out of the elements and accessibility the building has been prioritized. A wheelchair ramp is now available for folks with mobility issues.

    Our members should be prepared to serve inside, bring anything they need for the day and water.
