    Grant Writer

    Role Overview:

    As a Grant Writing Volunteer, you’ll support the research, writing, and submission of grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities. You’ll work closely with our leadership team to align grant language with our mission, track deadlines, and help strengthen our grant portfolio.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research prospective grant opportunities that align with our mission and funding needs

    • Assist in writing, editing, and submitting grant proposals and letters of inquiry

    • Maintain a grants calendar with deadlines, submission dates, and reporting requirements

    • Work collaboratively with the executive director and fundraising manager to gather data, stories, and budget details

    • Help track outcomes, submit reports, and ensure compliance with awarded grant terms

    • Assist with crafting boilerplate content and refining our grants toolkit

    Ideal Qualifications:

    • Excellent writing, editing, and research skills

    • Experience with grant writing (preferred but not required - mentorship can be provided)

    • Familiarity with nonprofit funding and philanthropic language

    • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple projects

    • Passion for disability advocacy, healthcare access, or social impact work

    • Proficiency in Google Drive, email, and basic spreadsheets
