True to the Brew Half Marathon: Volunteers NEEDED!

The True to the Brew Half Marathon is a trail run event held annually on the Croft Passage of the Palmetto Trail, located within Croft State Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina. It is known for being challenging, unpaved trail with moderate hills. The event is limited to 200 participants, and because of the sheer size of it, volunteers are a HUGE need in this event!

We're in need of at least 20 volunteers for this event on October 4th, 2025! Volunteers will be able to choose between running our water stations on the actual track, or meeting us at the finish line to pass out water and medals to the racers! Please see the details below for each respective position.

Note: It is imperative that you let us know ASAP if you're unable to make it after signing up. Please do not plan to leave before the event is completed!

We rely heavily on our dedicated volunteers for events like these. Thank you so much!

Option 1: Water Stations

The runners need water and gatorade throughout the race! Due to this, we typically have people stationed at three to four water stations throughout the track. Because the race starts at 7:30 AM, we need everyone in position by 7. For this reason, we ask that volunteers running the water stations arrive at the start line by 6:30 AM. We know this is a very early ask, but we appreciate the help more than you know! We're also more than willing to sign off on any needed hours for any reason! You'll also receive a Palmetto Trail volunteer shirt for your efforts.

Please note: If you are at a water station, you must remain throughout the entirety of the race.

Please meet at the start line by 6:30 AM, so that you can be shuttled to your station.

Option 2: Finish Line

When racers come across the finish line, please be there to cheer them on, hand them water, and give them their medal! The racers love seeing excited, smiling faces, so come with your best foot forward!

We ask that all finish line volunteers arrive by 8:00 AM witin Croft State Park.
