Do you have a friendly, loving dog that brings you great comfort and joy? If so would you and your fur buddy like to bring happiness to others? St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care is in need of certified therapy dogs and owners to visit hospice patients residing in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. A pet companion can improve the quality of one’s life by reducing anxiety, feelings of loneliness, and risk of depression. As a pet therapy volunteer you can expect to share laughs, smiles, and memories with patients while feeling a sense of fulfillment. Visits can be coordinated close to home and schedules are flexible.
Dogs must be well-groomed, at least one year old, have up-to-date health records, and be certified with The Alliance of Therapy Dogs.
