Visitor Services Volunteers may serve on an ongoing basis or for a single special event. We have varied volunteer opportunities including:
- Tour Guide: Lead groups from 4th graders to foreign dignitaries, sharing the history of the Capitol and informing guests how they can participate in the legislative process. Lead the seasonally offered 121-step climb to the Oregon Pioneer (optional for volunteers.)
- Information Kiosk: Greet, direct, and provide information for visitors. Answer main Visitor Services phone inquiries and refer calls appropriately.
- Capitol Store: Assist in the retail store including; cashier, merchandising and inventory processing.
- Legislative Usher: Serve as usher during legislative session in the House or Senate Gallery.
- Special Events: Oregon's Birthday Celebration, Cherry Blossom Day, Asian and Pacific Islander Day, Multicultural Day, Hispanic Heritage Day, Oregon's Bounty, Holidays at the Capitol, and more!
