    Health and Wellbeing Volunteer

    Project Overview

    The NaraTika CLC will help to improve access to information and create a space where rural people have easy access to new learning opportunities and meeting spaces. The main aim of this volunteering role is to engage people in their own local community to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. This includes teaching yoga or mediations classes for women and children. Through this program, we want to reduce social isolation and reduce stress.

    The NaraTika CLC is a multifunctional building designed to be used as a learning center for the marginalized communities residing in the eastern part of Nepal. It provides a range of services over three floors.

    Services provided at the CLC are: Ground floor: Reception area and Lobby; Specialised Health Centre; Computer lab

    1st floor: Children Centre, Library, Small Meeting Hall

    2nd floor: Dormitory with kitchen

    3rd floor: Conference Hall and Youth Centre

    Volunteer role description:

    We are looking for people who can teach yoga classes, facilitate meditation classes, dance, and generally talk to people about their health and wellbeing. This might also include organising events and activities with the following themes: Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.

    Requirements:
    • An interest in health and wellbeing, being able to plan and facilitate classes such as dance, yoga or meditation.

    NaraTika Community Learning Center (NT-CLC) is 250 KM east of Kathmandu - Volunteers Initiative Nepal HQ. It takes 8-10 hours but amazing views on the way from hills to fields and woods, rivers, mountains - from 300-meter alleviation to 2200 meters the same day :)

    Volunteer and Internship Application Procedure at NT-CLC

    • Please attach your resume (CV) with 2 referees’ contact details on the application form or send it separately at support@vin.org.np;
    • Await confirmation email from VIN for acceptance on the volunteer/internship program;
    • Once accepted, pay 120€ program booking fee via PayPal or bank transfer;
    • VIN will confirm your payment and send pre-departure info pack by email;
    • You will be guided to pay the program fee once you have received the pre-departure info pack.
