OpenGov Africa is a civic-tech STEM startup using open source technology, data, and community-driven innovation to reimagine governance, strengthen transparency, and empower citizen participation across Africa.

    We are recruiting people for our Admin & Reporting / Impact Measurement Team to strengthen our operations, track results, and ensure transparency in our programs. This team is essential for measuring progress, evaluating outcomes, and documenting the real-world impact of our projects.

    This role is ideal for volunteers with a passion for data, evaluation, reporting, and accountability systems in community work.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Administrative Support: Maintain volunteer records, meeting documentation, and internal systems for smooth operations.
    • Impact Measurement: Design frameworks for measuring outputs, outcomes, and long-term impact of OpenGov Africa’s work.
    • Reporting: Compile progress reports, case studies, and success stories for leadership, donors, and partners.
    • Data Collection & Analysis: Support surveys, metrics tracking, and data management to ensure evidence-based decision making.
    • Knowledge Management: Organize internal knowledge repositories (reports, datasets, lessons learned) for future use.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, strategy, and fundraising teams to align reporting with organizational goals.

    Qualifications

    • Experience or strong interest in community administration, data analysis, or impact measurement.
    • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets, or other data management tools.
    • Prior experience in monitoring & evaluation (M&E) or reporting is a plus.
    • Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.

    Expected Requirements

    • Time Commitment: Approx. 4-6 hours per week (flexible, remote).
    • Commitment Period: Minimum 3 months preferred.
    • Remote Work: Must have reliable internet access.
