    How to Apply

The Mustard Seed Organization for Community Development (MSOCD) is a not-for profit organization with the prime focus of providing formal education and vocational training, providing health care, Malaria and HIV/AIDS education, care and prevention to desperately poor.

It responds to the needs of neglected and forgotten orphans, children, youth, women and the elderly.

    Our History

The organization received recognition and registration by the government of the Republic of Uganda in 2023 as a community based organization. We are situated in Musoto village in Mbale District Eastern Uganda.

This organization was founded in response to the challenges that Uganda faces as a developing country and having emerged from many decades of war and political instability. Eastern Uganda where we work has among other problems, hunger, economic stagnation, biting poverty, low literacy levels, and prevalent Malaria and HIV/AIDS diseases that continue their deadly foray into every village. This calls for innovative actions that are designed and implemented to bring about change.

MSOCD is actively pursuing this at the grass roots.

The community of the Gishu, Bagwere and itesots whom we serve also experience early parenthood due to defilement of girls as early 12 years old. Cultural beliefs of witchcraft, polygamy, superstition and excessive drinking and use of drugs are destroying the community.

These challenges put MSOCD to work in order to address such problems.

As development partners, we are more effective at grass root levels where government hands are far. MSOCD is helping people in rural communities as well as helping to facilitate their social, spiritual, educational and economic well being.
