Join the San Diego Automotive Museum in volunteering at their Grand Prix Gala honoring Dr. Steve and Lynne Wheeler on Saturday, September 27. They are expecting approximately 400 attendees for this large-scale event and will need a lot of help to make it run smoothly.
The Party in the Park raises money for the San Diego Automotive Museum's IGNITE Technical Academy. The academy teaches students skills in the auto industry along with apprenticeships, fiscal responsibility, and resume building all at no cost to the student.
There are multiple positions available for volunteers at the gala, from setting up in the morning to assisting with the live auction. Below are the times and positions needed - there are about 40 openings:
Set up from 9:00am - 4:00pm
Live auction from 4:00pm - 10:00pm
Greeters from 4:00pm - 7:30pm
Valet from 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Check in from 4:00pm - 8:00pm
Silent Auction/Jewelry pull from 4:00pm - 10:00pm
Floaters from 4:00pm - 9:00pm
Please note that the shift times are subject to change.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Attire: Closed-toe shoes, slacks, event shirt (provided) and badge (provided). This opportunity takes place both indoors and outdoors.
Bring: Jacket for the evening.
Physical Requirements: Standing on their feet for multiple hours - lifting, bending for morning shifts. This project is able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations by providing less physical roles. The space where this project takes place is ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible.
Waiver: Minors will be required to have a San Diego Automotive Museum waiver signed by their parent/guardian.
Weather: This event takes place rain or shine.
