Through volunteer-led events, outreach, and advocacy, we reduce isolation, celebrate neurodiverse strengths, and foster belonging across the state.

    Position Overview

As an Event Organizer, you will play a key role in creating meaningful and accessible community experiences. Event Organizers help plan, coordinate, and host local gatherings such as social meetups, workshops, and tabling at festivals or conventions. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion, enjoys connecting people, and wants to support the neurodivergent community in a hands-on way.

    • Plan and organize community events such as social gatherings, discussion groups, or activity-based meetups.
    • Ensure events are welcoming, sensory-friendly, and accessible to a wide range of participants.
    • Coordinate logistics including venues, event setup, and communication with attendees.
    • Co-host or facilitate events, helping create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
    • Promote events through community channels (Meetup, Facebook, flyers, and word of mouth).
    • Collaborate with other volunteers and regional coordinators to share ideas and support one another.
    • Provide feedback after events to help improve future programming.

    Qualifications

    • Interest in supporting and celebrating neurodivergent communities.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Comfortable with event planning, coordinating details, and welcoming participants.
    • Reliability and ability to follow through on commitments.
    • Previous event, volunteer, or leadership experience is helpful but not required.
    • Lived experience as neurodivergent is valued, but not required.

    Time Commitment

    • Approximately 2–4 hours per week, depending on event schedule.
    • Flexible scheduling—some evenings or weekends may be required depending on event type.

    Benefits

    • Build leadership and organizational skills.
    • Gain experience in community organizing and event management.
    • Connect with other neurodivergent adults and allies in a supportive environment.
    • Make a meaningful impact by reducing isolation and fostering belonging for others.
