Holiday Donations Outreach

Location: My New House - Community Care Center in Koreatown (with some tasks done remotely)

Reports To: CEO

Time Commitment: flexible schedule, seasonal role: October-January)

Duration: Holiday season commitment (with possibility of extension for future campaigns)

Compensation:This is a volunteer opportunity only. This position is not paid and is not intended as a pathway to employment.

The Holiday Donations Outreach Volunteer plays a critical role in helping My New House bring joy and relief to families during the holiday season. This volunteer will help request donations of toys, clothes, shoes, food, and other essentials from local businesses, organizations, and community partners. Using a list of potential donors provided by My New House, the volunteer will reach out by phone, mail, email, or in person to request contributions that directly support children, families, and individuals in need.

·Contact businesses, organizations, and donors using phone calls, email, letters, or in-person visits.

·Follow a provided outreach list and log all communications and responses.

·Share information about My New House’s mission, programs, and holiday needs.

·Request donations of toys, clothes, shoes, food, and other essentials.

·Assist in preparing letters, thank-you notes, and donation tracking forms.

·Coordinate with the Program Director to ensure consistent communication and follow-up with potential donors.

·Represent My New House with professionalism, gratitude, and enthusiasm.

·Must have a bachelor’s degree in communications, business, social work, or a related field or be currently enrolled in a degree program.

·Strong communication and interpersonal skills (comfortable making phone calls and speaking with donors).

·Professional, courteous, and able to represent My New House positively.

·Organized and dependable with good follow-through.

·Basic computer and email skills.

·Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.

·Orientation to My New House’s mission, programs, and holiday donation goals.

·Training on donor outreach procedures and communication scripts.

·Guidance on logging contacts, tracking donations, and following up.

By volunteering as a Holiday Donations Outreach Volunteer, you will directly help bring holiday joy and dignity to underserved families in Los Angeles. Every phone call, email, or letter you send creates the possibility of a warm meal, a toy under the tree, or shoes for a child in need.

My New House is a 100% volunteer-based organization. We are not hiring for paid positions at this time. This is a volunteer opportunity only and is not intended as a pathway to employment.
