    Must be 55+ This is an opportunity through our AmeriCorps Seniors Senior Companion Program!

    Description

    AmeriCorps Senior Companions (Must be 55+) offer one-on-one support to other older adults who have difficulty completing everyday tasks. Volunteers assist with:

    • grocery shopping
    • escorts to medical appointments
    • Respite to family caregivers
    • medication reminders, and
    • Socialization

    Because of this program, thousands of residents can live with dignity in their own homes. For their service, Senior Companions receive a $4.00 an hour (tax-free) stipend and reimbursement for:

    • transportation
    • some meals, and
    • free accident and liability insurance during service.

    ELIGIBILITY

    • Be 55+ years of age
    • Income Qualify
    • Pass a Background Check
    • Have a Valid ID
    • Must be able to serve at least 5 hours per week
