About Angelz Services: Angelz Services is an upcoming faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free and low-cost beauty and wellness services to homebound elderly and disabled individuals across the United States. As a startup organization, Angelz Services is in its foundational stages becoming 501c3, developing programs, recruiting directors and committees, and building a nationwide impact from the ground up. The IRS requires 3 incorporators for nonprofits. Alaska, where Angelz Services will be registered, requires 3 incorporators (we currently have 2 and interviewing for the 3rd) and Alaska also requires a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Angelz Services will also require 3 pastor advisor/minister governing members.

Note: This role is critical to the successful establishment and governance of Angelz Services. It requires a leader who is deeply committed to the organization’s mission and values. As someone raised in a non-denominational Christian environment, I want to emphasize that Angelz Services holds no issue with the diverse branches of Christianity. We value and respect various beliefs and practices that reflect a sincere love for God and others. However, I want to clarify that certain perspectives within some faiths view serving others and volunteering as a way to earn favor with God or secure salvation. While we respect that viewpoint, it does not align with the core mission and morals of Angelz Services.

Our organization is founded on the belief that we serve others not as a means to benefit ourselves, but because God’s love compels us to do so. Our focus is solely on selfless service to those in need, with no personal gain or gratification. We strive to embody Christ’s love by serving others with humility and compassion, recognizing that our calling is rooted in His grace rather than any action we take to “earn” salvation.

For board members and key leaders of Angelz Services, their commitment must be driven purely by a desire to serve others and honor God’s calling, without any intention of self-aggrandizement. With this in mind, I want to make sure there is clarity on this matter, as any conflicting motivations could pose challenges to our shared mission.

We would be grateful for your support in other ways, but it’s important that all board members share our understanding of service as being an expression of God’s love and not a means of self-betterment.

Role Overview: The President of the Governing Board for Angelz Services guides the organization as it establishes itself from the ground up. This volunteer, part-time position requires a deep commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Angelz Services. The President will provide spiritual, strategic, and governance leadership, ensuring that the board operates effectively, and the organization adheres to its mission and foundational goals.

Responsibilities:

Chair board meetings, setting agendas, and guiding discussions.

Oversee board governance, ensuring the board fulfills its responsibilities.

Facilitate communication between the board and executive team.

Support board recruitment and member development.

Act as a representative of the board and organization

Vice President

Role Overview: The vice president assists the president often takes on special projects and leads in the president’s absence.

Responsibilities:

• • Support the president in board management and organizational oversight.

  • Step in as acting president when needed.
  • Mentor board members and assist in board development.
  • Hiring other governing board members
  • Assist in approving Board Members

Key Responsibilities:

Governance and Leadership:

Serve as the leader of the governing board, ensuring the board fulfills its responsibilities of oversight, governance, and strategic direction.

Chair all governing board meetings, setting the agenda, facilitating discussions, and ensuring productive outcomes.

Lead monthly meetings and additional meetings as necessary to address urgent or strategic needs.

Start all board meetings in prayer and provide spiritual guidance to keep the board grounded in the Word of God and led by the Holy Spirit.

Foster a collaborative and respectful atmosphere where board members can actively contribute to the organization’s success.

Strategic Planning:

Work with the CEO and the board to develop and approve strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the mission of Angelz Services.

Monitor the organization’s progress toward goals and objectives, making adjustments as needed to ensure success.

Board Development and Recruitment:

Collaborate with the CEO and the governance committee to recruit and onboard new board members who bring expertise, passion, and alignment with the organization’s faith-based mission.

Provide mentorship and leadership development opportunities to board members.

Ensure board members are equipped with the resources and knowledge necessary to fulfill their roles effectively.

Representation and Advocacy:

Serve as the primary representative of the governing board, acting as a spokesperson when needed.

Advocate for Angelz Services and its mission within the community, with potential donors, and among faith-based organizations.

Support for the CEO:

Act as a trusted partner and advisor to the CEO, ensuring open communication and alignment between the board and the executive team.

Provide encouragement, guidance, and feedback to the CEO as the organization grows and develops.

Faithful Servanthood:

Be a faithful steward of Angelz Services’ mission, ensuring decisions align with its Christian values and commitment to serving others.

Exhibit servant leadership, humility, and integrity in all interactions and decision-making processes.

Pray regularly for the organization, its leadership, and those it seeks to serve.

Compliance and Accountability:

Ensure the governing board adheres to all legal, ethical, and fiduciary responsibilities.

Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance and transparency.

Review and approve budgets, financial reports, and other critical documents in collaboration with the board and CEO.

No conflicts of interest personally or professionally.

Nothing on a background check that would contradict Angelz Services' values, mission, or morals.

Be able and willing to provide drug test and background check results when and if requested.

Skills and Qualifications:

Faith-Based Leadership: A strong, personal commitment to Jesus Christ, grounded in the Word of God, and led by the Holy Spirit.

Strategic Vision: The ability to think strategically and guide the board in long-term planning and decision-making.

Governance Expertise: Experience serving on or leading a governing board, with an understanding of nonprofit governance and best practices.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals.

Integrity and Accountability: A commitment to ethical leadership, transparency, and accountability.

Personal Connection to the Mission: A deep, personal connection to Angelz Services’ mission of serving homebound elderly and disabled individuals.

Experience with Large Organizations: A background in working with or leading large nonprofit organizations ideally with startup experience.

Expectations:

Commitment: This is a part-time volunteer position that requires leading monthly board meetings, additional meetings as needed, and availability for consultation on urgent matters.

Spiritual Guidance: Start board meetings in prayer and uphold the organization’s Christian values in all decision-making processes.

Availability: Be responsive to the needs of the CEO and governing board, maintaining open lines of communication.

Confidentiality: Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality in all board-related matters.

Stewardship: Serve as a faithful steward of Angelz Services’ mission, working to glorify God through service and leadership.

Reporting Structure: The President of the Governing Board reports to the entire governing board and is accountable for ensuring the board’s effectiveness. The President collaborates closely with the CEO to ensure alignment between governance and operations.
