    Description

    Volunteers can use their 4 hours or more to teach English in school. One class lasts 45 minutes. In the first week, other Nepali teachers are also available in the classroom. Teaching English to weak children.

    • People in Nepal don’t respect the job of teacher. So, people take this job as a last option. Teachers in Nepal are not well trained and can`t get skillful practical training; hence, students can`t get sufficient knowledge and skill from the course book in class. With a lower number of teachers, classes can’t run regularly, which has a direct effect on student engagement in the course book. English is a second language in Nepal; even an English teacher can`t explain the key points of the topic of the chapter. There are no resources available, like libraries and electronic devices, to search for and self-study in Nepali community schools. The responsibility of teaching English as a volunteer is given below:

    Responsibility:

      • Teaching English to students ages 4 to 11 (you can choose a class) Four hours in a day. Every class lasts 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, we need to change the class.
      • Check students' homework and make corrections to their mistakes; then they might improve their exam score.
      • Special care for weak students, then they increase in their study.
      • Do practical or project work inside and outside the classroom that is related to the course book.
      • Do some skill activities in class if you have any skills like dancing, speaking, crafting, etc.
    • Teaching English from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (six days a week)
    • Volunteers can take weekend holidays if they want.
    • Play with children, storytelling, drawing, and other creative work with children.
    • Help in office work if volunteers want.
