    Volunteer Coordinator

    Organization

    Tech Connection is a Chicagoland-based volunteer group that provides free computer training to students and free computers to individuals and families in need. We have gained substantial support from donors, volunteers, and clients, and are now in the process of incorporating as a 501(c)(3) organization to expand our operations. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, skillsets, and experiences to support this growth. Join us as we make history by transforming our volunteer group into a full-fledged technology nonprofit!

    Position

    We are seeking motivated Volunteer Coordinators who can dedicate 5–10 hours per week remotely and on-site. This role is critical in accelerating the growth of our volunteer group, which includes individuals with backgrounds in technology, accounting, social work, outreach, and operations.

    We are looking to fill two Volunteer Coordinator positions at this time.

    Responsibilities

      • Coordinate schedules for volunteers participating in the Tech Connection program
      • Record volunteers’ skills, projects, and accomplishments in their volunteer files
      • Onboard new volunteers
      • Manage volunteer benefits
      • Conduct outreach to recruit new volunteers with a focus on retention
      • Engage existing volunteers to track progress and ensure overall program satisfaction
      • Maintain volunteer postings on college/university job boards and volunteer websites
      • Review resumes, cover letters, references, and letters of recommendation for prospective volunteers

    Requirements

      • Must be 18 years of age or older
      • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
      • Willingness to learn new skills in human resources, operations, and management

      • Ability to maintain confidentiality
