Be a Friendly Visitor to Older Adults

Do you like meeting new people and socializing one-on-one? Arlington Neighborhood Village provides volunteer support to help older adults in Arlington, Virginia remain in their own homes as they age. We are currently looking for people who would enjoy visiting with members who can’t get out very often. The visits will include conversation, playing games, or sharing other activities that interest the member. In the process, you will form connections with your senior neighbors and reduce their social isolation.

Visits will last 1.5 to 2 hours and could be regularly scheduled or occasional events. You will chooses days and times that work for your schedule!

Successful volunteers are dependable people who enjoy getting to know others. All volunteers must be 18 or over, and pass a background check. For insurance reasons, we are unable to approve applicants with non-cleared background checks, or those who are seeking court-involved community service hours.
