    Description

    Habitat GTA Warehouse Support Volunteer

    Habitat for Humanity GTA is greater Toronto’s most recognized provider and advocate of solutions that tackle our region’s housing crisis. Our mission is to create a world where everyone has a safe, quality place to live. We focus on creative solutions to address the affordable housing crisis in Toronto, Brampton, Caledon, York Region and Durham Region. With the help of volunteers, donors and community partners, we unlock change for generations by bringing the benefits of home ownership to more people and communities.     What you need to know:

    • An on-line orientation session is required before your first volunteer shift.
    • All volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old.
    • Volunteers under the age of 18 require a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
    • Shifts are self-scheduled via Online Registration.
    • Volunteer shift is 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, 1:00pm - 4.00pm Monday to Friday. Schedule one shift or both. You control your own schedule.
    • Able to lift and be on feet, lots of breaks to elevate getting too tired.
    • Volunteers are required to wear CSA approved green label safety shoes. (If needed are available onsite for volunteers).

    Central Distribution Centre Location: (101 Alexdon road, North York, ON M3J 2B5)

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Organizing Donations: Sorting and arranging products for easy access and retrieval.
    • Packaging Operations: Preparing donations for shipment with appropriate packaging.
    • Setting Prices: Applying accurate pricing information to donations.
    • Loading and Unloading Trucks: Safely handling the movement of goods onto and off trucks.
    • Skid Wrapping: Securing donations onto pallets using wrapping techniques.
    • Material Management: Handling Donations within the warehouse efficiently.
    • Cleaning Items: Ensuring donations and work areas are clean and organized.
