Program Overview
Cooking Matters is a national nutrition education program run by Share Our Strength & The Food Trust. Through this program, The Park CDC to help community members learn how to clean/store/cook nutrient-dense foods, understand food labels, and maximize their grocery shopping budgets with healthy food selections. The program includes curriculum, materials, and training, and can be delivered in person or virtually.
Volunteer Needs
Volunteers will support the program by facilitating educational programs that teach people about nutrition and how to make improve their dietary habits and their overall wellbeing by making healthier choices both at the grocery store and in preparing food at home. The program content is delivered through a variety of formats, including seminars, culinary demonstrations and taste tests, hands-on cooking classes, and supermarket tours.
