    Walk to Defeat ALS San Diego

    Become a Walk to Defeat ALS Volunteer

    The Walk to Defeat ALS thrives because of passionate volunteers like you-people who bring creativity, leadership, and heart to the fight against ALS. This year, we’re looking for dedicated individuals to join our Event Committees, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the success of the Walk and making a lasting impact in San Diego.

    Committee Volunteer Opportunities

    1. Event Leadership Committee

    Help drive the strategic vision of the Walk! Committee members collaborate with staff to:

    • Recruit and steward corporate sponsors and community partners.

    • Plan fundraising initiatives and outreach campaigns.

    • Engage teams and participants to grow Walk attendance.

    2. Logistics & Operations Committee

    Be the backbone of event execution by assisting with:

    • Vendor coordination (venue, permits, signage, etc.).

    • Volunteer recruitment and day-of logistics.

    • Accessibility and safety planning to ensure an inclusive event.

    3. Community Outreach Committee

    Amplify our mission by:

    • Securing in-kind donations (food, supplies, prizes).

    • Promoting the Walk through local media and social platforms.

    • Mobilizing schools, businesses, and organizations to participate.

    Additional Volunteer Roles
    • Pre-Walk Support: Assist with mailings, data entry, and participant outreach.

    • Walk Day Crew: Help with setup, registration, cheer stations, and cleanup.

    • Event can be held at a volunteer group location (e.g. office, park)
