    Description

    Turtle Monitoring Program

    Help protect endangered Hawksbill and Green turtles through in-water monitoring and photo ID research in the Marine Protected Area surrounding Nosy Komba. MRCI’s Turtle Monitoring Program combines conservation, snorkelling, and data collection.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Conducting snorkel surveys to identify individual turtles
    • Recording behaviours, habitat use, and environmental data
    • Uploading sightings to global databases like Internet of Turtles
    • Supporting education and outreach activities on turtle conservation

    Qualifications:

    • Comfortable swimming/snorkelling
    • Interest in marine biology and conservation
    • Basic data recording and observation skills

    Our programs start on the first and third Monday of every month. To ensure the sustainability of our programs and support our partners and communities, program fees are essential.
