    POSITION TITLE: Panama Programs Volunteer

    LOCATION: Panama City, Panama

    DURATION: 4 to 5 months – March 15 to August 23

    TRAVEL: Approximately 50% within Panama, including some nights and weekends

    OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

    The Panama Programs Volunteer will play a key role in supporting the coordination, implementation, and evaluation of AMIGOS programs in Panama. This volunteer position works closely with the Panama Country Coordinator to assist with program preparation and execution. Volunteers will collaborate with project staff teams, help facilitate activities, support group dynamics, and assist with logistical coordination as needed.

    This opportunity is ideal for a young professional or student eager to gain hands-on experience in international youth programming, leadership, and community engagement. Volunteers will travel to project areas and engage directly with local communities and partners throughout their time in Panama.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Program Implementation & Team Support

    • Assist in various aspects of program operations, including supporting staff and volunteers.
    • Help review budgets and project documentation.
    • Build and maintain relationships with partner agencies and local service providers to ensure meaningful youth engagement in community development.
    • Communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals and ensure timely follow-up on tasks.
    • Contribute creative ideas to enhance the volunteer experience.
    • Assist with reviewing weekly project reports and documentation.

    Program Logistics & Preparation

    • Support logistical planning, including volunteer briefings, training sessions, cultural activities, and excursions.
    • Assist with organizing materials, coordinating transportation, and making lodging arrangements.
    • Help manage supplies and ensure that project teams have necessary resources.
    • Assist with financial logistics, such as organizing payments and coordinating with vendors.
    • Support emergency response efforts when needed.

    Field Support

    • May serve as a support volunteer in the field, working directly with project teams and participants.
    • Help facilitate workshops, training sessions, and group activities in both English and Spanish.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to youth participants.
    • Accompany participants during medical visits, early departures, or other special situations.

    Other Responsibilities

    • Participate in volunteer training and recruitment efforts.
    • Help facilitate training and orientation for Latin American youth participants.
    • Assist with other program-related tasks as needed.
