    Operations & Logistics Advisor - Board of Advisors (Nonprofit)

    Position: Volunteer

    Commitment: Estimated 2-6 hours/month

    Reports to: Executive Director / Board Chair

    About Us

    Skills of LIfe Cafe empowers neurodiverse teens and young adults, including those with mild

    intellectual disabilities, through vocational training in a real-world café setting. Our mission is to

    build inclusive workforce pathways and skills for long-term success and independence.

    Role Summary

    We are seeking an Operations & Logistics Advisor to serve on our Board of Advisors. This

    non-voting, strategic role provides expertise in optimizing day-to-day operations, supply chain

    management, and logistical support to enhance program delivery and operational efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities

    ● Advise on efficient workflow design and café operations to support training and service

    quality

    ● Support inventory, procurement, and supply chain strategies to ensure smooth café

    functioning

    ● Recommend systems for scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation

    ● Identify operational risks and propose solutions to improve safety and compliance

    ● Consult on vendor relationships

    ● Help align operational practices with the mission of supporting neurodiverse youth

    ● (Ideally) Assist with data tracking or reporting related to operational metrics

    Qualifications

    ● Experience in operations management, logistics, supply chain, or business

    administration

    ● Knowledge of food service or retail operations a plus, but not required

    ● Problem-solver with strong organizational and process improvement skills

    ● Comfortable working with diverse teams and adapting to a mission-driven environment

    ● Passion for empowering youth and supporting inclusion in workforce development

    Time Commitment

    ● Approx. 2-6 hours/month (flexible)

    ● Attend 1-2 advisor meetings annually (virtual or in-person)

    ● Available for occasional consultation by phone or email
