    About Us

    We are DEFEND. A 100% volunteer-run international nonprofit organization aimed at reducing risk for children and vulnerable persons online. We're building a new social media site, developing a fictional radio drama podcast, undertaking several events/fundraisers & more! All of our teams need graphic support for our socials, learning materials & other projects.

    Role Description:

    As a Graphic Designer, you will play a key role in crafting compelling visual assets that align with our mission to protect kids online. You will collaborate with the Education, Advocacy, Marketing, and Social teams to produce impactful designs that educate, engage, and inspire our audience. Your creativity will help bring complex topics to life and ensure our messaging is accessible, memorable, and aligned with our values.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Creative Design: Develop visual assets such as infographics, digital campaigns, social media graphics, and educational materials.
    • Brand Alignment: Ensure all designs align with our brand identity and mission.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with Education, Advocacy, Marketing, and Social teams to translate their needs into visually appealing deliverables.
    • Content Support: Assist in creating visual content for reports, presentations, and advocacy materials.
    • Innovation: Stay updated on design trends to introduce fresh ideas and concepts.
    • Consistency: Maintain design consistency across all platforms, ensuring cohesive messaging and visual identity.

    Qualifications for This Role:

    • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field. Relevant experience can substitute for formal education.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, or similar tools.
    • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing diverse design projects, preferably with some experience in advocacy or educational design.
    • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate design ideas and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Time Management: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
    • Passion: A strong commitment to our mission of protecting kids online, with sensitivity to the challenges faced by children in digital spaces.
