    Description

Advocate For Elders In Long-Term Care Facilities As A Certified Ombudsman

Make a difference in the lives of the elderly and disabled persons. We rely on a team of volunteers to visit San Mateo County residential care facilities regularly to make sure every resident is seen, heard, valued and supported. We respond to resident complaints, investigate concerns and improve quality of life. Through regular visits, we build trust by showing up, checking in and staying connected. What you do matters!

Grow your skills by giving back. We offer a free training and shadowing with our supervisory staff.

    Who can volunteer?

    • Age 18+ with a car, driver's license, and insurance.
    • Must not have worked in a long-term care facility in the past 12 months.
    • Time in your schedule for 8-10 volunteer hours a month
    • Comfort with technology to enter visits and case information.

We also would love to add some bilingual individuals to our team as well to better serve our community.

Have fun! Explore creative solutions. This is one of the most rewarding volunteer jobs you can do!
