Are you excited about bikes, cycling and improving the community? Do you enjoy engaging with people and making new connections? Then you would be great as an Outreach Volunteer! Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange holds information tables at various community events throughout the year. Generally we might participate in 1 - 2 outreach events per month. An outreach event might be a summer city concert in the park, or city volunteer recruitment fair, or a school event.
The Outreach Volunteer will staff our information table and engage with visitors, informing them about Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange, what we do, and why our mission is important. We rely on volunteers to repair donated bikes and make them availble to our charity organization partners. We're always recruiting for skilled and unskilled volunteer mechanics, and other types of volunteers. Events take place at various locations around Palo Alto, Redwood City, Mountain View, Cupertino area.
The Outreach Coordinator would be responsible for bringing flyers, banner, maybe a bicycle and sample tools for show and tell and then returning supplies to the shop after the event. You would also be responsible for showing up on time, staying for the duration of the event, and being responsible for your own transportation.
Your enthusiasm for our mission as well and cycling and bikes will inspire and motivate visitors to join our merry band of volunteers.
