    Marine Conservation Volunteer Opportunity

    Marine Conservation Volunteer – Madagascar

    Join Madagascar Research and Conservation Institute (MRCI) as a marine conservation volunteer and help protect the vibrant coral reefs and marine biodiversity of Nosy Komba. Volunteers assist with underwater surveys, coral reef monitoring, marine species identification, plastic pollution assessments, and environmental outreach.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Conducting underwater scuba surveys
    • Assisting with coral and fish identification and data collection
    • Participating in beach and underwater clean-ups
    • Supporting community education and awareness activities

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for ocean conservation and willingness to learn
    • PADI Advanced Open Water certification (or willingness to complete it on-site)
    • Comfortable working in a team and in remote, outdoor environments

    Volunteers live at our Turtle Cove research camp and contribute directly to ongoing marine research and protection efforts. Perfect for students, gap year travellers, and early-career conservationists seeking hands-on field experience.
