The Data Entry & Billing Assistant supports our Housing and Case Management program by ensuring accurate billing submissions to Medical (Medi-Cal). This volunteer will help input, update, and maintain detailed records of services provided to clients. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and interested in learning more about healthcare billing and nonprofit data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter and maintain accurate housing and case data related to Medi-Cal eligible services.
Support timely and correct submission of claims to Medical.
Track and update client service data for monthly reporting and evaluation.
Assist in organizing documentation needed for billing audits or quality assurance reviews.
Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in handling sensitive information.
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Comfortable with data entry and using spreadsheets or electronic databases.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information.
Previous experience with billing systems or Medi-Cal (a plus, not required).
Commitment to the mission of My New House and serving vulnerable populations.
Training Provided:
All volunteers will receive orientation and ongoing support. Basic training in Medi-Cal billing procedures and our data tracking system will be provided.
