    Description

Girls Talk Organisation – Call for Board Members

Girls Talk Organisation is a youth-led nonprofit founded in The Gambia and now expanding across the U.S., with a new headquarters in Los Angeles. Our mission is simple but bold: to empower girls to rise, lead, and transform the world. We work across the areas of gender justice, mental health, leadership development, and community education.

As we grow our U.S. presence, we’re looking for passionate, values-driven board members to help us strengthen our governance, expand our reach, and ensure we remain rooted in both integrity and impact.

    Who We’re Looking For

We welcome people of all identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences, especially those passionate about advancing equity, girlhood, and healing-centered advocacy. You do not need prior board experience. We are especially interested in those with expertise in the following:

    • Legal/compliance (preferably with U.S. nonprofit law)
    • Fundraising & donor relations
    • Strategic communications
    • Mental health & trauma-informed care
    • Grassroots organizing or community development
    • Financial oversight & budgeting
    • Education, youth engagement, or international development

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide oversight on strategy, impact, and fiduciary matters
    • Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual)
    • Support the Executive Director with guidance, mentorship, and connections
    • Serve as a public champion of our mission

    Why Join?

You’ll be joining a fast-growing, global movement centered on youth power and gender justice. You’ll help shape our U.S. expansion, contribute your skills to meaningful work, and be part of a committed team amplifying the voices of girls everywhere.
