    Volunteer Community Organizer for the Workplace Psychological Safety Act (Washington, DC)

    Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid in-person outreach required)

    Time Commitment: Flexible, 5-10 hours per week

    About Us

    We are a grassroots movement dedicated to ending workplace abuse and ensuring psychological safety in workplaces nationwide. Our mission is to build public and legislative support for the Workplace Psychological Safety Act, a critical bill aimed at protecting employees from workplace bullying, harassment, and retaliation.

    Role Overview

    We are seeking a Volunteer Community Organizer in Washington, DC, to help build momentum for the Workplace Psychological Safety Act by securing co-signers, mobilizing community support, and engaging key stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone passionate about worker rights, advocacy, and social justice.

    Key Responsibilities

    Outreach & Advocacy: Connect with local organizations, unions, advocacy groups, and legislators to gain support for the Workplace Psychological Safety Act.

    Community Engagement: Educate DC residents about workplace psychological safety, encouraging them to take action and support the bill.

    Relationship Building: Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, workplace abuse survivors, and legislative aides.

    Event Coordination: Organize and attend community meetings, advocacy events, and discussions to spread awareness.

    Legislative Action: Assist in gathering signatures for petitions, coordinating meetings with lawmakers, and drafting letters of support.

    Social Media & Communications: Help amplify our efforts through social media, email outreach, and grassroots campaigns.

    Who You Are

    Passionate about workplace justice and workers’ rights.

    A strong communicator with experience in community organizing, advocacy, or grassroots movements.

    Comfortable engaging with a diverse range of people, including legislators, activists, and workers.

    Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating with a larger team.

    Based in Washington, DC, or willing to be present for in-person advocacy efforts.
