Join the YA-YA Board Of Directors—Now Seeking Youth & Adult Applicants

The mission of the YA-YA Network (Youth Activists-Youth Allies) is to advance youth organizing as a strategy for youth development and social transformation through training and leadership experiences. YA-YA prepares our participants to become the next generation of activists in the movement for social and economic justice. We build the capacity of young people to influence policy, improve institutions, and change systems that directly impact youth, their families, and the communities they live in.

The YA-YA Network seeks youth and adult allies to join our active and engaging Board of Directors. We are looking for people ready to leverage their skills and social resources to build the strength of the YA-YA Network

Responsibilities of Board members :

• Participate in four quarterly meetings/year, two in-person and two virtual.
• Participate in monthly strategic planning sessions (virtual).
• Help raise the funds necessary to operate YA-YA, including a give/get goal of $500 per Board member, with consideration for the capacity of each member regarding age and class status.
• Carry out all agreed-upon activities and respond promptly to communications.
• Contribute to productive discussion, decisions, and implementation of Board actions.

We are especially seeking folks with the following skills:

• Accounting skills
• Evaluation skills
• Coaching skills
• External workshop & facilitating skills
• Fundraising

The Role of the Board is to act as trustees for the people and communities receiving services from the YA-YA Network. The Board is responsible for stewarding the vision, articulating values and principles of the organization, setting goals, developing effective governance policy, meeting and monitoring standards, and fiscal responsibility.
