    Description

    A Free Bird is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization that is fully remote. Our organization provides children affected by cancer the opportunity to explore their artistic passions. Artistic expression has been proven to play an instrumental role in the healing process. We support them with a range of self-expression through art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing and other creative mediums. This is an amazing opportunity to have a direct impact on improving the children’s lives while also gaining valuable skills that can be utilized in your professional careers. You will gain experience collaborating with various departments and managing a team.

    The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with leadership on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization’s human resources policies, programs, and practices. The Human Resources Coordinator will maintain employee records and comply with labor laws and regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct HR processes (i.e., employment, recruitment, hiring, policy administration, comp & benefits, performance management, training, retention, etc.) in compliance with Business Area and policies.
    • Oversee and conduct best-practice onboarding practices to drive superior performance, policy compliance, and employee satisfaction.
    • Advise leaders on strategic, operational, and business goals, and incorporate relevant HR tools to facilitate solutions.
    • Manage performance management, payroll, and recognition processes for the organization.
    • Conduct investigations and decision-making processes to resolve complaints, grievances, potential policy violations, etc., and implement discipline and coaching/counseling processes, as required.
    • Administer and/or manage the payroll and HRIS processes and procedures.
    • Coordinates with department managers in proper employee relations resolutions.
    • Prepare and analyze reports for quarterly and annual reporting (workforce representation, turnover, headcount reports, etc.).
    • Proactively identify what needs to change and take the initiative to change it.
    • Manage and advise on HR activities and employee relations.
    • Build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.

    Qualifications

    • At least 3+ years of HR-related professional experience.
    • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree a plus.
    • SPHR, PHR, etc. certification is preferred.
    • Exercise excellent judgment and analytical skills to influence leaders successfully.
    • Strategic business acumen to lead the HR team.
    • Possess and applies a broad knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and procedures and solid organizational ability to develop cohesive plans.
    • Ability to prioritize duties and efficiently complete responsibilities
    • Proficient with Excel and Word
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    Additional Information

    • This position requires a six-month commitment and at least 10- 15 hours per week with the flexibility to plan your schedule.
    • Mandatory commitment is based on position level.
