    Description

SOLID GROUND Mentors and Assistant Mentors

We are looking for volunteer mentors and assistant mentors to work with small groups of children from 1st through 12th grades, Monday through Thursday, from 5-8 pm. Mondays and Wednesdays, we serve 1st through 5th graders; Tuesdays and Thursdays, we serve 6th through 12th graders.

The Volunteer Position: Mentor/Assistant mentor for a specific grade level

Commitment: At least one evening per week.

    An overview of our program:

Each night, our doors open at 5:00. The children play on the playground (weather permitting), watch movies, draw, etc., until dinner is served around 5:45. Every night the kids are with us, we serve them a hot meal. After dinner, the kids head to Chapel for worship and a light lesson. Afterward, first and second-graders and teens head to age-appropriate classrooms to expound on the chapel lesson. Third through sixth graders rotate through activity stations with their mentors and assistant mentors while station leaders lead the lesson activity. We provide the curriculum and related supplies for each night. At the night's end, each child leaves with a kid-friendly food bag to keep them fed while they are not with us.

Rock House Kids is an ongoing, year-round program. We ask for at least a year-long commitment.

Choose the day(s) of the week that best works for you! We have a great time with these precious, hungry and hurting children. We need volunteers that will faithfully support the evening programs by following the curriculum that is set forth for each day programming is available.

An application can be mailed, filled out at our office, or online at https://rockhousekids.org/program-volunteers/

For the safety of our kids, a background check is required for all who work directly with them.

If you have any questions, please call our office.
