    Description

Training conducted at your local Lions Club chapter.

As the world's largest humanitarian organization, Lions Clubs International operates with volunteers in almost every town globally. One of our key community service activities involves providing no-cost eye screening for students in schools, daycares, and individuals in the communities. Utilizing advanced technology like the "SPOT Screener," a handheld device designed for early detection of sight disorders, our volunteers conduct non-intrusive and touchless screenings.

Key aspects of our screening process include:

    • Screening Parameters:
      • Hyperopia (Farsightedness)
      • Myopia (Nearsightedness)
      • Astigmatism (Imperfection in eyes curvature)
      • Anisometropia (Unequal refractive power)
      • Strabismus (Crossed eye)
      • Anisocoria (Unequal pupil size)
    • Procedure:
      • Duration: Less than 10 seconds
      • Distance: Approximately 3 feet for about 30 seconds
      • Applicability: Children as young as 6 months, individuals of all ages, and special needs individuals
    • Results:
      • Immediate availability of printed/digital results
It's crucial to emphasize that our screening is a preventive measure, and any individuals with abnormal results are advised to consult their own eyecare professional. We are not affiliated with any commercial eyecare provider, and our services are provided free of charge.

The screening process is automated and does not necessitate extensive training for the screener. With training sessions lasting less than 30 minutes, individuals can acquire the necessary skills to deliver the service efficiently.
