    Description

    Grants Seeker

    Location: My New House - in Koreatown (with option for some remote work)

    Reports To: CEO

    Time Commitment: 4-6 hours per week (flexible schedule)

    Duration: Minimum 3-month commitment preferred

    Position Summary

    The Grants Seeker Volunteer will support My New House in identifying funding opportunities that align with our mission to serve vulnerable individuals and families. This role is critical in helping sustain and expand our housing, food, transportation, and case management programs. The volunteer will research potential grants, maintain a database of opportunities, and provide summaries for review by the leadership team.

    Key Responsibilities

    ·Research and identify available grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

    ·Maintain a database of grant deadlines, requirements, and eligibility criteria.

    ·Review guidelines to determine alignment with My New House programs and services.

    ·Prepare summaries of potential opportunities for leadership review.

    ·Assist with gathering supporting documentation required for applications.

    ·Support the Development Team in organizing and tracking submissions.

    ·Stay updated on philanthropic trends and funding priorities relevant to housing and social services.

    Qualifications

    ·Must have a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, social sciences, or a related field or be currently enrolled in a related degree program.

    ·Strong research and analytical skills.

    ·Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

    ·Organized and dependable, with ability to meet deadlines.

    ·Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

    ·Previous experience with grant research or nonprofit development is a plus, but not required.

    Training Provided

    ·Orientation to My New House’s mission, programs, and funding needs.

    ·Guidance on using online grant databases and research tools.

    ·Support in understanding nonprofit grant cycles, requirements, and reporting.

    Impact

    By volunteering as a Grants Seeker, you will help secure critical resources that allow My New House to provide housing support, food distribution, and transportation assistance to underserved families. Your work behind the scenes ensures that our programs can grow and continue making a lasting difference in the community.

    My New House is a 100% volunteer-based organization. We are not hiring for paid positions at this time. This is a volunteer opportunity only and is not intended as a pathway to employment. We welcome individuals who are passionate about nonprofit development, fundraising, and creating meaningful impact through resource generation.
