    Description

Los Angeles Fire Disaster Response and Rebuild!

On January 7, 2025, a series of major wildfires ignited in the greater Los Angeles area destroying nearly 40,000 acres of homes, schools, and businesses, leaving countless families in dire situations. Close to 11,662 homes were destroyed and 1,631 have major, minor, or repairable damages. Los Angeles County faces urgent recovery challenges-restoring homes, basic services, and shelter-while also needing a long-term, resilient rebuild.

International Relief Teams will be sending out construction teams to support the ongoing recovery and rebuilding efforts, standing alongside families as they recover and rebuild what was lost. In partnership with Hope Crisis Response Network (HCRN), we have been asked to assist with the following project:

Project Description: Roofing - 900 Sq. Feet

Background: Betty lives in Altadena and her home stands right at the edge of the area where the Eaton fire hit. She is elderly and lost her husband of 50 years just a few months ago.

    Date: September 2-5, 2025

Volunteers needed: 4 more volunteers skilled (or have experience) in roofing!

Travel & Accommodation: Covered by International Relief Teams

If you are interested in joining this project, please let sign up by August 22nd. If you have any questions, please contact Marilyn at msethi@irteams.org.
