If you have a kind heart, are a good listener, and want your volunteer time to feel truly meaningful, this opportunity may be the perfect fit. Our hospice is looking for friendship/companionship volunteers for our senior patients located throughout the West Valley.
One of the great things about volunteering with us is flexibility with YOUR schedule. As long as it matches the patient's needs, you can choose the day and time to volunteer. As a courtesy to our patients, we ask that once the schedule is set, it remain consistent every week.
WHAT DOES A HOSPICE VOLUNTEER IN PATIENT SUPPORT DO?
Patient needs vary, but these are some of the common things we do:
VOLUNTEERS DON'T:
WHERE DO THE VOLUNTEERS GO TO HELP PATIENTS?
Our patients are located throughout The Valley. We go to where they live. Some live at home, some are in care facilities, and some are in group communities. We will try to match you with a patient who is close to you. We currently have patients in Buckeye, Goodyear, Laveen, Glendale and Peoria.
If this sounds like something you'd like to do, you will receive hospice classroom training, supplemental healthcare training, and will have a joint first patient visit with the volunteer coordinator so you feel confident and comfortable.
We are looking for an hour each week, but if you have more time to spare, that's ok too!
